Lee Cole asked:

If you’re like me, you understand the dangers of using your cell phone while driving. With this Bluetooth GPS comparison guide, you can learn all about the best GPS receivers that support Bluetooth technology. Now you can not only know where you’re going, but get there more safely as well.

There are three main manufacturers of GPS receivers, Garmin, Tom Tom, and Magellan. There are others, but these are the industry leaders. All three have great GPS devices that support Bluetooth technology for hands-free calling.

In this article, I’m going to talk briefly about some of the products each company offers that supports Bluetooth. The idea is after reading this article, you’ll be better prepared to buy a Bluetooth compatible GPS receiver.

Just so you know, I’m including my opinions in this article. It’s not meant to be unbiased. I run a GPS authority website where I get to see which GPS receivers people actually buy. So, I think I have sort of a front row seat to what people like.

Magellan

Magellan is a great company! They make an excellent product! I especially like their Maestro line.

In the Maestro line they have two receivers that support Bluetooth, the 3250 and the 4250. These are exactly the same except the 4250 is the wide screen version. It has a 4.3-inch screen as opposed to the standard 3.5-inch. (That’s measured diagonally, by the way.)

Both of these devices are excellent. They include maps of the United States and Canada, over 6 million Points of Interest, and AAA Tour Book integration for those who are AAA members.

Right now, the 3250 is selling for about $200 and the 4250 is selling for about $250. Personally, I would pay $50 extra for the wide screen. But that’s just my opinion.

Garmin

Garmin is the top manufacturer of GPS receivers in the world! They offer a huge range of product. I especially like their nuvi line.

The nuvi’s are newer on the market, replacing the older StreetPilot (which is still a great GPS, by the way).

The nuvi’s that support Bluetooth are the 360 and 370, the 660,670,680, the 760, 770, 780, the 880 and the 5000.

The 300 line has the smaller 3.5-inch screen. To get the larger 4.3-inch screen, you’ll have to spring for the 600 line or above. The newer nuvi 5000 has a whopping big 5.2-inch screen!

What the 600 line and above offers over the 300’s is FM transmitter capability, where you can get the transmission from the GPS receiver to go through your car’s audio system. The 700 line and above offers multi-point routing. You can put in more than one destination and the device will calculate the most efficient route to all the points.

Personally, I love the Garmin nuvi line. I think they make a totally awesome, very sleek looking product.

Currently the 300 line runs a little more than $200, the 600 line a little more than $300. Add $50 to that and you’ve got the price range for the 700 line. The nuvi 5000 runs around $650, and the 880 runs close to $1,000. (But let me tell you something. If you really want top-of-the-line high end GPS technology, that’s $1,000 well spent!)

Tom Tom

Tom Tom is more the new kid on the block. But that hasn’t stopped them from taking a huge market share from the older, more established companies. One way Tom Tom has done that is with offering more product for less money. Also, they have been very instrumental in introducing new ideas and technologies.

Tom Tom’s GPS receivers that support Bluetooth are the Go 510, 720, 730, and 920. The Go 510 runs slightly less than $200. It’s a direct competitor with the Garmin 360. The Go 920 is between $300 and $350.

Check the prices yourself. They tend to go down with time.

Tom Tom’s products offer essentially the same features as Garmin’s and Magellan’s.

No short article can tell you everything you need to know. But at least this gets you started. To learn more, you need an informative website.

tim caroll asked:

Global Positioning System technology is playing an important role in our lives tracking us in travel and in social networks as well. Technologies such as wifi and bluetooth had begin to replace the wire that bind our devices, so they are increasing becoming wireless. If you have a device that doesn\’t include GPS capability, a bluetooth GPS receiver is a great way to experience the added benefits with little extra overhead.

* Bluetooth GPS technology is wireless. Unlike infrared and other predecessors, bluetooth devices don\’t require strict line of sight to maintain connections. Rather, devices networked in this manner can function in separate rooms, through walls, at distances up to 15 meters.

Bluetooth GPS is one of the sensitive technologies. GPS technology suffered from severe limitations in the past. It is common for GPS devices to lose their ability on their tracked satellites under trees, awnings or even in pockets. As GPS receivers become increasingly sensitive, many of these limitations have vanished, and they now can now often acquire fixes even inside buildings, albeit less accurate data than would be gotten outside.

One of the cellular technologies that enhance devices is Bluetooth GPS. Often for under $100, you can purchase a small bluetooth GPS receiver that connects and acquires fixes from your pocket or backpack. Battery life is often comparable to that of cell phones and they weigh even less. It unlocks large new areas of capability for anything with which it is networked, yet this device is so small that you \’ll forget that you\’re carrying it.

You can turn some of your PDA systems into a full navigation platform. Many PDAs don\’t include internal GPS receivers, yet they offer bluetooth connectivity, as well as enough memory and storage space for GPS software and maps. You can experience GPS tecnology in a package that competes well with stand alone units instead of purchasing a bluetooth GPS reciever for Your PDAand required software, this has a difference of a fraction of the cost. If you have a PDA that meets these requirements, consider adding a bluetooth GPS. You don\’t need another large device; have the power of GPS at your fingertips on your PDA;

While this may not initially seem like a huge advantage, you may reconsider when you find yourself easily consulting maps and getting directions without fumbling with another larger device.

* Bring GPS to your older phone. GPS receivers are more common in cell phones today but still many don\’t use it going for cheaper means of locating of positions. When combined with cellular internet more intersting possibilities becomes available via blutooth GPS, this offers many of the same benefits as pda GPS connectivity. Many social networks are beginning to incorporate geolocation, thus helping your friends locate you more quickly and surely than would be possible with verbal directions. More relevant and clear information about businesses and restaurants can be given out using Cell phone GPS data by recording your location.

With this bluetooth GPS data, 911 services can automatically know the location of your call without you needing to tell them the address.

Raphael Hidalgo asked:

Mobile phone quad-band signal jammer for worldwide use. How does it work? The cellphone jammer transmits low power radio signals to cut off communications between cell phones and cell base stations. It does not interfere with anything other than mobile phones within the 20 meter working radius. Upon activating (turning on) the signal jammer, all the nearby phones will indicate “NO NETWORK”, so you can conduct your company presentation, meeting, dinner, worship service, legal proceedings, or other important activities without being disturbed. When the phone jammer is turned from on to off, all cell hand phones will automatically re-establish communications and provide full service. While you may have seen plenty of mobile phone jammers before, this one is quite simply one of the best we have ever tested.

Available direct to you right now at Chinavasion’s usual rock bottom wholesale prices.
John Pawlett asked:

The best way to go cell phone shopping is to do it online. Log on, find a quality cell phone search engine and start looking. Whether or not you choose to actually buy the phone online is a different story, but researching for mobile phones is always best done online.

When you’re cell phone shopping, the important thing that you must remember is to compare the mobile phones. Don’t just look and compare the prices, but compare phone features, ratings and even reviews. All these will help you decide which cell phone you should buy.

Before you can start shopping for a cell phone, you have to first ask yourself - what kind of phone am I looking for? Learn about the types of features and functions cell phones have and find out which mobile phones have the kind of features that you like. Also take into consideration how much chatting you intend to do with your phone and pay attention when reviewers highlight the cell phone’s battery life. All these questions need to be answered before you buy your mobile phone.

Once you’re done cell phone shopping, you might want to consider ordering online. Apart from a wide selection of cell phones for you to browse through, you can also get some of the best deals online. You can actually get cheap cell phones online because there is no dealer charge. So now that you know how to go about cell phone shopping, get to it! Buying mobile phones has never been easier with online shopping.

Let’s say you’re wondering whether or not to buy a mobile phone or what you should get. It’s amazing that you’ve gone on long enough without one but I’d have to say that in this day and age, everyone needs a cell phone. Even if you’re not into fancy features and services, at least get a basic mobile phone to make calls. But if you could learn how to get the most out of your cell phones, perhaps you would consider getting a really nifty one?

Most people don’t consider it important but reading your mobile phone manual can actually net you some cool pieces of information. Plus, cell phones these days have very easy-to-read manuals and by reading it, you could discover some extra features you didn’t know about. And you’d never know when these extra features could come in handy.

In ancient times, warriors would decorate their weapons with carvings or jewelry because these weapons became an extension of their lives and an expression of who they were. Today, cellphones are integrating themselves more and more into our lives, becoming an invaluable tool to our work and play. So it is only natural that we decorate our cellphone “weapons” as a form of personal expression and individualization.

There are all kinds of fantastic accessories available to take your cellphone to the next level. After all, why would you want to have exactly the same cell phone that everyone else has, when you can make it uniquely yours?

Gen Wright asked:

One of the leading top 4 GPS receivers with Bluetooth is the CoPilot Live 7 North America. The receiver features a speech engine, 2D and 3D map view, interest points, routing options, map theme change, street maps, real-time traffic info, etc. This seems to be one of the leading GPS receivers sold on the market. Loading the program is simple and the software includes North American maps, and more than 6 million points of interest. However, The program’s multibutton controls are challenging, and finding your way around the menus can take a while.

Another of the top 4 GPS receiver with Bluetooth is the 51 channel GlobalTop G33. It is the latest “ultra low power Bluetooth?” The receiver is amazingly affordable. It features 51 tracking channels, and it supported by EGNOS and WAAS. It has a superb urban Canyon performance. It will work with your computer, cell phone and PDA and is compliant with RoHS. Best of all it will work with any navigation program. However, some users find it gets overheated quite a few times.

The third GPS receiver with Bluetooth we reviewed is the GlobalTop HG 100 HUD. This receiver costs about $20 more than the last model, but it has some amazing features that really has to be considered. Its base is on the high-tech MediaTek and it has ambient light sensors with a speed warning function as well.

It also has an indicator that shows you which direction you are heading and is a very handy application to have around. In addition, you can use this receiver with your PDA, computer and smart phone. Various other features are available also, in which you should compare them with Qstarz BT-Q818X, and BT-Q890 the Nano Keychain with Bluetooth GPS receiver.

However we found Garmin Nuvi 360 portable GPS with Bluetooth best of all. It integrates wireless technology with a microphone and speaker that lets you make hands-free mobile phone calls using your compatible Bluetooth-enabled phone. Simply dial numbers with the n?’s touch screen keypad to place a call, and to answer calls, just tap the screen and speak directly into its built-in microphone. Some of it’s other features includes : MP3 player with pre-loaded sample songs and audio books, JPEG picture viewer, travel alarm, and currency converters, 2D or 3D views; pre-loaded with most recent Navteq-driven maps for United States, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Canada, Turn-by-turn directions with actual street names; real-time traffic and weather info, Super-bright 2.8 x 2.1-inch sunlight-readable color screen, Display resolution: 320 x 240 pixels

Each model has some unique features to consider. Be sure to check them out on the internet before you decide to buy any of them. It never hurts to make a comparison of all the leading systems on the market. At least this way you will know exactly what to expect. However, our absolute best recommendation is the Garmin Nuvi 360 portable GPS with Bluetooth.

Lisa Newton asked:

How To Improve Your Cashflow In 2010 – Top 10 Tips

Don’t be fooled into thinking the Credit Crunch is over!

By Lisa Newton

The doom and gloom was very apparent in 2009. All we kept hearing was ‘we just need to get through this year’… but for those businesses still standing – you got through it. Well done. 2009 is behind you. It’s a new year and a new decade, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve left all the problems behind us. In fact, if you actually allow your guard to slip now – with the false sense of security that everything is OK now – you will be crunch just the same. So, it’s important that you continue to keep your wits about you.

1. Get Payment Up Front

There is no rule that says that you MUST give credit. You can always ask for a 50% payment on account, and the remainder upon completion. If other people want to wait for months and months to get paid – let them. Quality customers will appreciate that you are running a business.

2. Get A Paypal Account

With a paypal account, you can accept payment by credit and debit card, and this is giving your customers more payment options. What’s more, the payment is immediate – unlike a cheque, which can take days to arrive in the post, and then you still have to bank it.

3. Set up Standing Orders

With customers who purchase from you regularly, work out an amount that they can pay you by monthly or weekly standing order. This will save them time having to “remember” to make your payment, and it means that you can better plan your funds, because you know you’ll have money coming into you regularly.

4. Plan Ahead & Make Provisions

If you do a cashflow forecast, then you’ll immediately be able to see when a possible shortage of funds might occur. And you plan for this dip accordingly. Either get an overdraft arrangement in place, or re-juggle your spending, so that you don’t fall into the red. Planning ahead will save you money and a lot of stress. Bank’s do not like unauthorised borrowing, and they will penalise you for it. By planning ahead, you will show your bank manager that you are a capable, credit-worthy customer, and you are more likely to keep them on your side.

5. Apply for 0% credit cards

A credit card can provide a useful stop-gap. You can make all purchases on your cards, and then pay the balance in full when the statement arrives each month. This method can allow you to keep your cash in your account for an extra 7-8 weeks, depending on the terms of your card. It is not, however to be recommended if you are not disciplined enough to clear the balance before the 0% runs out.

6. Start Selling What People Want to Buy

It sounds obvious, but many businesses out there aren’t making the sales, and they’re confused as to where it’s going wrong. Make sure you’ve done your homework, and really understand what people want to buy. Then start selling it to them.

7. Pay on Invoice

In future, ask all of your suppliers if you can pay them on invoice, or change your shopping habits. Instead of buying stationery from the corner shop where you have to pay in cash, and it could be more expensive, look at ordering it online, and paying on 30 day terms.

The aim of the game in improving your cashflow, is to reduce the amount of time people take to pay you, and increase the amount of time you have to pay other people – without damaging your relationships with either party.

8. Spend Less !!

It’s an obvious one, but the amount of people out there, who think each cost they have is “a necessity” and not a “luxury” is mind blowing. Be aware, no one is telling you to cut it out altogether. If you must send a letter, send it 2nd class, rather than first class. Or better still, can you pdf and email it over? Is that quicker and cheaper? Let them print it out on their paper, using their ink. But some things could be cut out – e.g. the subscription to the magazine that you don’t read. Are you on the right tarrif for your mobile phone contract? Do you really need 2000 minutes, or could you downgrade a band, chat less, and make a saving?

9. Asset / Lease Finance

You can safeguard your cashflow outwards on major expenditures by either delaying any major purchases, OR, if that’s not possible, then finance your purchases in a way that doesn’t require a huge initial outlay. Many businesses lease their equipment – computers, company cars, machinery, plant, photocopier – you pay a small amount each month, and should anything break down, then the leasing company can replace or fix the item – all of that, including the insurance etc., is included in the leasing fee.

10. Set up a Savings Account to Pay Yourself First

Your cash will flow off and disappear into the ether if you don’t keep an eye on it. A little trick, is to make yourself one of your own creditors. Pay yourself first. Set up a standing order to go out to your savings account every week or every fortnight, or every month – and just make sure you set money aside for 1) Tax bills and 2) to save for an emergency. You will probably surprise yourself because you won’t miss the money when its gone, and your cashflow will improve because when you need the money – it’ll be sitting in an account waiting for you.

Lisa Newton is the Managing Director of a bookkeeping company that manages cashflow, money and the books for a variety of business in the London, UK area.

For more information, call us on 0844 8844 222 or visit: www.booglesltd.com J
